چکیده

This paper presents flow results of a magnetic resonance imaging velocimetry system which relies on fluid motion estimation, and uses vorticity map differencing for calibrating its reliability. To validate this new concept, phase contrast magnetic resonance imaging on the right atrium of a healthy subject has been suggested. The study has demonstrated the state of change in blood flow patterns within a cardiac chamber using our implemented system and a well established flow imaging modality. Based on the gold standard imaging technique, flow fields can be used to establish a set of reference data to compare against magnetic resonance fluid motion tracking results. We conclude that our validated technique can be reliable enough for establishing a cardiac based velocimetry system.

Theory and Validation of Magnetic Resonance Fluid Motion Estimation Using Intensity Flow Data

BACKGROUND Motion tracking based on spatial-temporal radio-frequency signals from the pixel representation of magnetic resonance (MR) imaging of a non-stationary fluid is able to provide two dimensional vector field maps. This supports the underlying fundamentals of magnetic resonance fluid motion estimation and generates a new methodology for flow measurement that is based on registration of n...

Evaluation of a Validation Method for MR Imaging-Based Motion Tracking Using Image Simulation

Magnetic Resonance (MR) imaging-based motion and deformation tracking techniques combined with finite element (FE) analysis are a powerful method for soft tissue constitutive model parameter identification. However, deriving deformation data fromMR images is complex and generally requires validation. In this paper a validation method is presented based on a silicone gel phantom containing contr...

Finite Integral Transform Based Solution of Second Grade Fluid Flow between Two Parallel Plates

The importance of the slip flow over the no-slip condition is widely accepted in microscopic scaled domains with the direct impact on microfluidic and nanofluidic systems. The popular Navier Stoke’s (N-S) flow model is largely utilized with the slip flow phenomenon. In the present study, the finite integral transform scheme along with the shift of variables is implemented to solve the equation ...
